Before you send that finished PDF, check these things

October 31, 2026

Getting to the Download button feels like finishing. Take another minute before you send the file. A correct answer on the wrong line is still a problem, and a file that looks right in the editor can deserve one last look after saving.

This is the check to use after filling a form in Document Forge. You do not need to make the document perfect in some abstract sense. You need the right information, readable, in the right copy.

Check the answers before the layout

Look at every page

Use the page controls to inspect the main editor view. Thumbnails are previews of the original pages, so they cannot prove that your added text or signature is positioned correctly. Look for clipped words, tiny text and marks covering the form’s instructions.

If you copied information between pages, check every copy. The destination layout may be different. Make sure a checkmark points to the intended option, and that a signature has not drifted onto a date or witness line.

Make sure the signature fits the request

Document Forge adds a visible signature you draw or type. It does not provide identity verification, certificate signing or a signing audit trail. Confirm that the recipient accepts this kind of signature before you rely on it. Use your own signature or one you are authorized to apply.

Use the review screen, then save

Choose Review & download. Read the change counts and use the links to revisit affected pages. If the screen says a changed field could not be mapped to a page, check every page rather than assuming that field is fine. Even without a warning, the summary is not an accuracy check.

Prepare the PDF. If the download does not start, choose Save prepared PDF and check your browser’s downloads. Keep the editor open until you have found the file and opened it.

Open the file you will actually send

Check its pages, entries and signatures in a PDF viewer. Confirm that it is the latest copy, especially if you downloaded several versions. Form fields in the saved copy are flattened; keep your original if you may need a fresh start.

Finally, check the recipient and any requested attachments. Document Forge does not send the PDF for you. Once the correct copy is saved, you can clear the session or close the tab. Original files and downloaded copies remain on your device.
