Privacy policy

This policy explains how Document Forge, operated by Logan Pendragon through Logan Pendragon Forge, handles information. It applies to this PDF editor. Other Forge pages and services may have separate policies. For privacy questions or requests, use the Forge contact page.

Your PDF, entries, and signature

When you choose a PDF, Document Forge reads it into the current browser tab. Rendering, form filling, signature creation, and export happen on your device. The editor does not send your PDF, filename, form entries, signature, or completed document to our server, an AI provider, or the developers of its software libraries. We do not receive, sell, share, or train AI on that document content.

Working documents and edits are held in the app’s memory. The editor does not intentionally save drafts in cookies, local storage, IndexedDB, or a server database. There are no accounts, document histories, cloud backups, or cross-device synchronization in this version.

Clearing and saving your work

Download a copy before clearing, refreshing, or closing the tab. Clear document discards the active PDF, form values, placed marks, signature, undo history, rendered page, and temporary download link from the app. We cannot recover an unsaved document because we never receive it.

Clear does not delete your original file, downloaded copies, screenshots, clipboard contents, browser caches, device backups, browser or operating-system recovery data, or copies you share. Closing the tab is not a guarantee of forensic erasure. Manage those copies through your browser and device. No server document deletion schedule is needed because there is no uploaded document archive.

Website access and security logs

Opening the website makes ordinary network requests for the page, fonts, software, and other public assets. Our hosting infrastructure may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, timestamp, response code, and security events. The editor does not include your selected filename or document contents in these requests.

We use operational information to deliver the website, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Our hosting and infrastructure providers process it as needed to provide those services. Access and security logs are separate from your PDF and are not affected by Clear document. We do not promise anonymity, a particular log deletion time, or an absence of all device or network traces.

Optional website analytics

Google Analytics loads only if you choose Allow analytics. It helps us understand page visits and whether the editor opens and prepares PDFs successfully. It receives the public page address and title, a random cookie identifier, browser/device information, and basic events: page_view, pdf_opened, and pdf_prepared. Preparing a PDF is not proof that you saved or delivered it.

We do not send filenames, document contents, field names or values, text entries, signatures, feedback text, URL query strings, or URL fragments to Analytics. Automatic form, download, scroll, and outbound-link tracking are disabled. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. The service does not use session replay or third-party document processing. Google receives network information when your browser contacts it; see Google’s privacy policy for its processing practices.

Your analytics choice is stored on this device in local storage, separately from your PDF. If enabled, first-party Analytics cookies on this Lab last up to 180 days and may be renewed when you visit. Use Analytics settings in the footer to change your choice; choosing No thanks stops future collection and removes this Lab’s Analytics cookies. It cannot recall data already sent. We honor Global Privacy Control by not loading Analytics. The editor works fully with Analytics off. Clear document does not change your analytics preference.

Outside services

PDF libraries and fonts are served from this site. The shared Forge feedback button loads from the parent Forge site and sends feedback only when you submit it. Browsers may cache public assets. External links take you to services with their own practices; this policy does not describe information you independently give those services.

Information you send separately

If you contact us or use the Forge feedback button, we may receive the name, contact details, and message you provide. The shared feedback service also receives the Lab identity, release stage, page path, and technical request information. Do not enter private document contents in feedback. Document Forge does not attach your PDF or signature to feedback. We use that information to respond, handle the issue, and maintain relevant support records. Do not include confidential PDFs, signatures, passwords, or identification numbers when a description is enough. Support messages are separate from the browser-only document workflow.

We may disclose information we actually hold to service providers assisting with hosting or support, when legally required, or when reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising through this editor.

Retention and your choices

The editor has no server-side document retention. Separately received support records and operational logs may be retained for the time needed for their purpose, security, or legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified where practicable. The applicable period depends on the record; clearing a PDF does not delete these separate records.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy of personal information we hold, and to complain to a relevant privacy regulator. Contact us with enough detail to identify the request. We may need proportionate verification before responding. We cannot produce, correct, or delete a PDF that was never sent to us. You can stop using the editor and control local copies at any time.

Security, children, and location

Use a trusted device and browser. Extensions, malware, shared computers, downloads, and the recipients you choose are outside this app’s control. No technology guarantees absolute security. The tool is not a regulated document vault and does not offer a healthcare data processing agreement.

The service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us separately, contact us so we can address it. Support and infrastructure providers may process information in different locations, subject to applicable requirements.

Changes to this policy

Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. A future feature that collects or stores documents would require its own clear explanation of processing, retention, and choices before use. Using this editor does not enroll you in a future storage service.
