Terms of service
Effective September 14, 2026
These terms govern Document Forge, a browser-based PDF editor operated by Logan Pendragon through Logan Pendragon Forge. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. You must have legal capacity to agree or the permission and supervision required by applicable law. If you act for an organization or another person, you must have authority to do so.
What the service provides
Document Forge lets you open a supported PDF, fill supported form fields, add text and visible signature marks, and download a completed copy. This version is available without an account, payment, or watermark. It does not submit documents to recipients, calculate taxes, validate answers, or provide legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice.
The service is currently a Forge Experiment. We may update its features, limits, availability, or pricing, or suspend or discontinue it. Any future paid feature must disclose its price and require your separate agreement before charging you. Nothing here authorizes an automatic payment or subscription.
Your content and permission to use it
You retain your rights in your documents and entered content. You are responsible for having permission to open, change, sign, download, and share them. This service claims no ownership of your documents and does not receive them through the editor. Use only your own signature or one you are legally authorized to apply.
Do not use the service for forgery, impersonation, fraud, deceptive alteration, infringement, or other unlawful activity. Do not interfere with the website, overload it, distribute malware, or attempt unauthorized access. We may limit abusive access to protect the service and others.
Electronic signatures
The Signature tool places a visible mark you draw or type into a PDF. It does not create a certificate-based digital signature, cryptographic tamper seal, identity check, notarization, witnessed signature, recipient authentication, proof of delivery, or signing audit trail. The app does not obtain or verify another party’s consent.
Whether an electronic signature is suitable depends on the document, applicable law, intent, consent, and the recipient’s requirements. You must confirm those requirements and arrange any required witnesses, identity checks, consent, records, or notarization. Do not assume a recipient or authority will accept a document just because it downloads successfully.
Compatibility and review of output
The displayed limits are 25 MB and 100 pages per PDF. Password-protected or encrypted PDFs, XFA forms, and documents with existing certificate signatures are unsupported. Complex fonts, unusual page structures, scripts, calculations, and specialized form behavior may not be reproduced. The editor does not perform OCR or rewrite the original page text.
Downloads flatten supported form entries and add visible marks. Flattening does not make a document tamper-proof. Keep the original and inspect every page of the downloaded file for legibility, field values, placement, completeness, and page count before sending it. You remain responsible for accurate information, deadlines, submission, and keeping records. The disclaimer explains further limitations.
Privacy and loss of unsaved work
Document processing takes place in the browser as described in the privacy policy. The editor has no server document archive, account backup, or recovery service. Download before clearing, refreshing, or closing the tab. Clear affects the app session; it does not delete original files, downloads, or other device copies. Operational website logs are separate.
Our website and third-party software
Except for your content and materials covered by their own licenses, the service’s branding, design, and original content belong to the operator or their licensors. You may use the editor for lawful purposes; these terms do not transfer ownership of the website. Bundled third-party software remains subject to its respective licenses and accompanying notices. Those licenses are not replaced by these terms.
Links to outside services are provided for convenience. We do not control their availability, content, or practices. Their own terms apply when you use them.
No warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, uninterrupted availability, or error-free operation. We do not guarantee compatibility with every PDF, successful delivery, acceptance, legal enforceability, or recovery of lost work.
Limits of responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use the service, including lost data, missed deadlines, rejected paperwork, or signature disputes. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, statutory warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Changes, disputes, and contact
We will post updated terms with an effective date. Changes apply prospectively subject to applicable law; a material change requiring consent will not rely solely on an older acceptance. Stop using the service if you do not accept the applicable terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
For questions or a problem with the service, contact us through the Forge contact page. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive any non-waivable right to seek relief through a competent court or regulator.
